Domaine la Tour Boisée - Château Tour Boisée - Marie-Claude 2018
Based in Minervois, the Tour Boisee family estate was originally built around 1826. Jean-Louis Poudou and his wife Marie-Claude currently own and run the vineyards and winery. Every generation of the family has proven to be as passionate and dedicated to the terroir as their ancestors have been. The "Tour" (Tower), for which the estate is named, was part of the village's fortifications back in the 12th century and still stands in their garden to this day. The estate produces a large line of impressively well-made and delicious wines.
The Marie-Claude Minervois rouge is a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Carignan. All grapes are destemmed and aged for 12 months in oak barrels. The wine is powerful with wonderful aromas of black fruits buoyed by notes of cocoa and spice. On the palate, the tannins are silky smooth, the acidity is soft and integrated with added flavors of savory herbs. The finish is long and lingering with a persistent elegance. Enjoy with guinea hen, braised beef or game in an aromatic sauce.
