The vineyards of Château Grand Mazerolles have been producing grapes since 1464. The estate, owned and managed by the Schweitzer family, is located on the right side of the Gironde in the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. Luc Schweitzer and his two sons, Ludovic and Richard, farm the land with a care and passion that respects the spirit of the terroir and the region of Blaye.
The Château Grand Mazerolles is composed of 100% Merlot from vines of an average age of 25 years, grown on soils of gravelly loam. Fermentation and aging is completely done in stainless steel to preserve the beautiful fruit. The wine sits in the glass a brilliant ruby red emitting lifted aromas of bright red fruits. The palate is mouthwatering, displaying an abundance of red fruit flavors, (currant, pomegranate and cranberry) supported by smooth tannins and vibrant acidity. The finish is long and fresh. Burgers are an obvious choice, but this Bordeaux will go great with pizza night or Korean BBQ.
