Azienda Agricola Eraldo Viberti - Dolcetto d'Alba 2021
Founded in 1960, Azienda Agricola Eraldo Viberti farms six hectares of vineyards in the commune of La Morra in Barolo planted to Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto. Since 2018, the estate is certified organic. All vineyard work, from pruning to harvest, is done manually, with only organic fertilizers and no herbicide use (instead, the family uses a manual hoe to control the grasses beneath the vines). Fermentations are carried out in stainless steel and the Barbera and Nebbiolo wines are aged in French oak barriques.
Eraldo Viberti's Dolcetto d'Alba is grown on tufaceous and clay marl soil. It is fermented for seven days, then aged for eight months, all in stainless steel. This Dolcetto pours a deep reddish purple into the glass. A couple of swirls releases aromas of spiced, dark red fruit with a touch of cedar. The palate is soft and inviting, revisiting those red and black raspberries flavors supported by juicy acidity and light tannins. Enjoy with a salumi e formaggi board, tagliatelle ai funghi or venison tenderloin drizzled with a veal demi-glace.
