Agur Winery was established in 1999 by winemaker Shoki Yashov, a pioneer of the Judean Hills wine region. In 2020, he brought in two partners to bring fresh ideas and spirit to invigorate Agur Winery. Elad Katz, with over a decade of wine industry management experience, and Eyal Drori, with multiple degrees in viticulture and wine and vineyard science, as well as winery work in Italy, Crete and Israel, joined Shoki after years of friendship. Together, the three gentlemen combine their love of winemaking, the shared joy that wine brings and the incessant desire to improve their craft to produce a variety of wines from their vineyards in Mata, Ein Kerem and Givat Yeshayahu, with each expressing their unique characters of which the terroir allows.
The Agur Blanc — a delightful blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Roussanne and Viognier — pours a light gold color. Dazzlingly aromatic, this white offers aromas of citrus-washed green apple, pear and honeydew. The palate is rich, showcasing pure fruit flavors, but is balanced by crisp acidity and an underlying, flintly minerality. Excellent with white meat dishes... try fried chicken cutlets with a simple side salad or grilled pork chops topped with a spiced apple chutney.
