The Von Kisel Rot is made from 100% Blaufränkisch grown in the estate's red gravel soils in Burgenland. The grapes come from 20 year old vines, are fermented in stainless steel and aged for 6 months in old oak barrels. In the glass, the wine pours an alluring dark ruby with a violet rim. The nose is expressive with aromas of strawberries and wild berries to compliment a subtle note of fresh earth. Well integrated tannins frame the beautiful berry flavors that are complemented by a hint of delicate spice and dark chocolate. Medium-bodied with a long finish, enjoy this Blaufränkisch with a roast pork sandwich, cured meats and cheeses, or fried sausages.
