Zantho wines delivers great value and introduction for classic Austrian wines. Located in Andau, close to the Hungarian border in Burgenland, Zantho has vineyards and long standing contracts with local growers that allow them to deliver exceptional quality and consistency every year. Winemaker Josef Umathum and Josef Peck work only with indigineous Austrian varietals produced the traditional way. The unique Pannonian climate of the region together with the austere, iron-rich gravelly soils offer perfect conditions for the production of high quality wines: juicy Zweigelt, elegant Sankt Laurent and finely spiced Blaufränkisch.
Zantho's Blaufränkisch is fabulous example of the variety and delivers great value. Mid-ruby color with spicy red and black fruit aromas. The palate is fresh, soft and juicy with flavors of sour cherry, pomengranate and bramble. This is an excellent and versatile table red, though it is certainly easy enought to quaff on its own. Enjoy with grilled sausages and spätzle.
