The Weegmüller family, an old noble family from Zurich, Switzerland, immigrated to Pfalz, Germany in 1657, and started producing wine shortly thereafter in 1685. In 1737, the family settled in the mountain village of Haardt, overlooking the Pfalz region, and their 16 hectares of vineyards are located in some of the best sites of the Mittelhaardt in the villages of Haardt, Gimmelding, Neustadt, and Mussbach. Today, Gaby and Stefanie Weegmüller are the eleventh generation of the family to helm the estate.
In the glass, the Vom Gelben Fels has a brilliant gold color with aromas of green apples, ginger and white flowers. On the palate, the wine shows a racy acidity and broad mouthfeel with flavors of peach, pineapple, herbs and a lively saline minerality. Enjoy with crab, sushi, roast pork and charcuterie.
