Quinta de Santa Eufemia is a Portuguese Port house whose history begins in 1864 when Bernardo Rodrigues de Carvalho acquired vineyards in the Duoro and began producing and selling Port wines. His skills and passion have been passed down from generation to generation ever since. Today, Quinta de Santa Eufemia is in it fourth generation of family leadership.
The 2007 Colheita is a blend of classic Douro port grapes. The grapes are fermented in granite lagares for five days with traditional foot treading, until they are fortified with addition of brandy. The wine is then aged for a minimum of seven years in small, 550 liter casks. The wine is dark brown in color with great aromas and flavors of caramel, roasted nuts and dried cherries. On the palate, there is excellent structure and a long, lingering finish. Enjoy with blue cheeses, nut based desserts, or on its own.
