Quinta de Santa Eufêmia - 10 Year Tawny NV
Quinta de Santa Eufemia is a Portuguese Port house whose history begins in 1864 when Bernardo Rodrigues de Carvalho acquired vineyards in the Duoro and began producing and selling Port wines. His skills and passion have been passed down from generation to generation ever since. Today, Quinta de Santa Eufemia is in it fourth generation of family leadership.
The 10 Year Tawny from Quinta de Santa Eufemia is a blend of traditional Douro grapes that are over 30 years old. The wine is quickly fermented in traditional lagares (treading tanks) before being fortified. After fortification, the wine is aged in large 11,000 liter barrles for the first 5 years, followed by ageing in smaller 550 liter casks where they're aged a further 10 years. The wine pours a beautiful tawny color and exhibits flavors of dried fruits, nuts, apricots and spice. Enjoy with firm aged cheeses, chocolate or nut desserts.
