Tom Caruso began his journey in wine by making it with his grandfather on the streets of Philadelphia, specifically, Oregon Avenue. Tom's curiosity led him to work for a winery in Brooklyn, where he enrolled in an intensive wine school which opened his eyes to the wide world of wine. Eventually, he realized that he wanted to make wine, so he travelled to New York, Sonoma and finally Oregon's Willamette Valley, working harvest and learning his craft with other farmers, winemakers and mentors. He started Pray Tell to express his own thoughts and creativity about wine. Tom's values are founded on sustainable, mindful farming, reactive winemaking and an unflinching pursuit to continue learning and enjoying each bottle he makes.
The Pray Tell Gamay pours a bright ruby red with purple reflections. A few swirls of the glass release aromas of ripe red cherries and violet. The palate is packed with flavors of blueberries and cranberries intertwined around an earthy mineral core. This medium-bodied Gamay displays subtle tannins and just the right amount of acidity, leading to a delightful finish accented with a touch of white pepper. Enjoy with chicken Tikka Masala or tacos al pastor.
