The Parcé family can trace their roots as farmers in Banyuls-sur-Mer back to the 1800's, though they have been living in the area for over 300 years. The estate is run by three brothers, Martin, Vincent and Augustine along with their father, Marc. Passionate and philosophical, together they aim to achieve a peasant vision of wine: to maintain their history, honor their roots, establish a link to the land and care for the inheritance they've received. All of their vineyards are co-planted, that is each vineyard has many different grape varietals within it. This is the traditional way of working the vineyards in Roussillon, and requires constant attention to each plot, since each grape varietal grows and ripens at different rates and times. Their work in the vineyards and the winery has earned them the recognition as one of the great estates of Roussillon.

Le Petit Gus is a blend of 90% Grenache, 5% Carignan and 5% Mourvèdre, fermented in a mix of concrete and steel tanks and aged in stainless steel to preserve the wine's fruit purity and soft, elegant mouthfeel. The vines — the youngest of which are 40 years old — are grown on black schist soils facing northeast on slopes overlooking the Banyuls and Collioure harbors at elevations between 10 to 350 meters. This terroir, combined with a gentle extraction during fermentation, creates a distinct wine that showcases the intensity, concentration and power of Roussillon, yet also displays elegance, charm and balance. In the glass, the wine sits a brilliant deep ruby with garnet highlights, emitting intoxicating aromas of sunbaked berries, kirsch, spice and flowers. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and round with a soft and silky mouthfeel that perfectly complements the baked blackberry, cherry and currant flavors. The finish is warm and seductive, overflowing with fruit intensity and the sunshine of Roussillon. The pedigree of the Parcé family is apparent in every sip, from the first drink to the last. Enjoy with stuffed zucchini, tuna á la Basquaise or boles de picolat (Catalan meatballs).
