Enderle & Moll is a tiny estate located in Baden, Germany run by Sven Enderle and Florian Moll, two gentlemen who make some of the best Pinot Noir in all of Germany. Their methods in the vineyards and winery are atypical for a region where emphasis placed on efficiency, ripeness, alcohol and oak. Enderle & Moll farm all their vineyards organically and biodynamically, working with some of the oldest Pinot Noir vines in Baden. All work in the vineyard and cellar is done by hand and nothing is added to any of the wines.
The Muschelkalk Pinot Noir comes from 60+ year-old vineyards planted on limestone soils. All grapes are hand harvested and fermented with native yeasts without any additions (except small amounts of sulfur at bottling), no fining and no filtration. In the glass, the wine shows a bright, translucent ruby color with gorgeous aromas of tart red berries, flowers and fresh earth. On the palate, this achieves an exceptional balancing act of light body and high flavor concentration; a delectable acidity and soft tannin structure frames the intense fruit and mineral flavors that drive into a powerful, yet elegant finish. Pair with roasted pork dishes.
