Created in 2009, Domaine Petits Champs Lins was born through the merger of two very old Burgundian estates: Domaine Diane Levez and Domaine Jean-Luc Fouquerand; both Domaines possessing winemaking history that spans at least seven generations. The decision to merge was made when Jean-Luc and Diane, husband and wife, learned of their daughters’ desires to keep this winemaking tradition alive. Jean-Luc is a superstar in Burgundy, spending years as the vigneron of the Hospices de Beaune, before taking over his family’s estate. Now, he works behind the scenes, helping his daughters, Vick and Clementine, craft the best wines they can, without interfering in their own vision.
Located in the heart of the Côte d’Or, the estate is comprised of 20 acres of prime vineyards, especially their holdings in Meursault. From the vineyards to their new winery, everything is accentuated toward achieving the highest quality, while paying respect to tradition. Vick and Clementine, both in their 20’s, are two of the most determined vigneronnes I have met and their wines are evidence of that dedication. With the guiding hand of Jean-Luc, these young ladies are poised to make their own mark on Burgundy.
The Volnay Premier Cru "Les Caillerets" is made from 100% Pinot Noir. Light ruby in the glass with aromas of red flowers, roasted red fruits and a touch of oak spice. On the palate the wine displays incredible finesse and delicacy with a fine acidity, inviting tannins and a long, precise finish. Drink now or age a further 10 years.
