Domaine de La Santoline is owned by the Greuzard family, who moved from Burgundy to the Languedoc in 1980, purchased their first vineyards in 1987 and started Domaine de La Santoline in 2001. The estate is named after the herb santolina, one of many aromatic plants that flourish among their 60+ hectares of vines located in the two communes of Mirepeïsset and Sallèles-d’Aude. The Greuzard family are independent wine growers who farm sustainably, working their vines as environmentally friendly as possible to produce healthy grapes that in turn create delicious, welcoming and amiable wines. The quality of their Pays d'Oc Syrah is a testament to their passion, commitment and hard work.
Domaine de La Santoline's 100% Syrah is an amazingly rich and complex wine from the heart of the Languedoc. Deep, almost opaque purple color with luminous garnet rim. Intense aromas of ripe blueberry, blackberry, chocolate, espresso and baking spice meld into an intoxicating potpourri that wafts from the glass. The wine is full-bodied with soft, luscious tannins that coat the palate, balanced beautifully by a soft acidity that perfectly frames the succulent juicy fruit flavors as they cascade into a rich, decadent finish. To get this much wine at this price is absolutely amazing! Enjoy with barbecue brisket or ribs slathered in sauce, pub-style cheeseburgers or slow roasted pork shoulder.
