Yohan Lardy is the fifth generation of his family to farm vines in Beaujolais, but he started his own his domaine in only 2012, with 2 hectares of old vines, planted in 1911 and 1950. Today, Yohan has expanded his holdings to 6.5 hectares of vines spread across Beaujolais in Moulin-a-Vent, Fleurie, Chénas, and Beaujolais-Villages. He works all of his bush vines by hand, farming organically and maintaining his vineyards' biodiversity. His wines are fermented whole cluster in concrete or polyethylene tanks using native yeasts without the addition of sulfur.
Lardy's Le Vivier Fleurie is 100% Gamay grown from vines between 40 and over 70 years in the half-hectare lieu-dit Le Vivier on sand over blue granite. The grapes are fermented whole cluster carbonic maceration with native yeasts, then aged 8 months in neutral oak barrels. The wine displays a beautiful blend of ripe red berry fruits and spice with great concentration of flavor, soft tannins, and brisk acidity. A charming Cru Beaujolais to enjoy with assorted sausages, Quiche Lorraine or an assortment of soft cheeses.
