The Paquet family has owned properties in Burgundy since the early 1950's. Agnès Paquet took over the vineyards and set up her Domaine in 2000 after completing her wine business studies in Beaune. The estate is located in the remote village of Meloisey, in the Hautes Côtes de Beaune right near the village of Auxey-Duresses. She conducts every aspect of the winemaking process, from vine to bottle. The micro-production of her wines, combined with her status as a darling of France's three Michelin Star "Somms" (from the restaurants of Alain Ducasse, Anne-Sophie Pic and Joël Robuchon) allows us to realize how lucky we are to feature these beautiful wines.
Light gold in the glass, the Chassagne-Montrachet Blanc (made from 100% Chardonnay) displays lively and complex aromas of white flowers, ripe citrus fruit and a distinct nuttiness with a flint like minerality that lingers in the air. The wine is rich and round, fleshy and textured with a keen acidic backbone. Flavors of tangerine, Bosc pear and toast coat the palate in broad and expressive strokes. Les Battaudes displays a wonderful depth of flavor with an expansive mouthfeel that combine to make a wine of great elegance and vivacity.
