The Paquet family has owned properties in Burgundy since the early 1950's. Agnès Paquet took over the vineyards and set up her Domaine in 2000 after completing her wine business studies in Beaune. The estate is located in the remote village of Meloisey, in the Hautes Côtes de Beaune right near the village of Auxey-Duresses. She conducts every aspect of the winemaking process, from vine to bottle. The micro-production of her wines, combined with her status as a darling of France's three Michelin Star "Somms" (from the restaurants of Alain Ducasse, Anne-Sophie Pic and Joël Robuchon) allows us to realize how lucky we are to feature these beautiful wines.

Agnès Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Rouge is made from 100% Pinot Noir that is from a 30 year-old plot of vines located in Meloisey on shallow, red-clay soils with limestone. The grapes are fermented in concrete vats and aged 10% in new oak barrels with the rest in concrete. Light ruby color with garnet highlights with enticing aromas of freshly picked red berries, dusty earthiness and purple flowers. The palate is lean and refreshing with crunchy, tart red fruits balanced by soft, yielding tannins and a vibrant acidity. This is a lovely village level red Burgundy at an amazing value!
