The Paquet family has owned properties in Burgundy since the early 1950's. Agnès Paquet took over the vineyards and set up her Domaine in 2000 after completing her wine business studies in Beaune. The estate is located in the remote village of Meloisey, in the Hautes Côtes de Beaune right near the village of Auxey-Duresses. She conducts every aspect of the winemaking process, from vine to bottle. The micro-production of her wines, combined with her status as a darling of France's three Michelin Star "Somms" (from the restaurants of Alain Ducasse, Anne-Sophie Pic and Joël Robuchon) allows us to realize how lucky we are to feature these beautiful wines.
Agnès' Auxey-Duresses Blanc is 100% Chardonnay. Ripe orchard and citrus fruits leap out of the glass with an underlying minerality. While the nose is generous with fruit flavors, once the wine attacks the palate you realize there is plenty of tension and zing to balance with the richness of the fruit. This is an exciting wine, one that delivers an abundance of energy and nerve while maintaining its richness and fruit concentration.
