Croft - Vintage Port 2011
Croft is one of the most distinguished of all Port houses, being one or the original houses in Oporto. It was founded in 1588 and is the oldest still active firm in the Port trade. It is most well known for its Vintage Ports in addition to its range of Tawny Ports and wood-aged reserve wines. The cornerstone of Croft's wines is the famous Quinta da Roêda which contains some of the oldest vineyards in the Douro Valley. Just as important as their history, traditions and vineyards is the fact that Croft remains a family company, dedicated to producing Port wines across a range of styles. The 2011 Vintage of Port is so remarkable that Croft not only declared the vintage, but also release a bottling of 100% Quinta do Roêda fruit, a rarity for the firm.
