Château Talbot gets its name from an ancient British soldier, Connetable Talbot, who was killed in a battle at Castillon in 1453. In the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, this Saint-Julien estate was ranked as a 4th Growth. Since 1917, the Château has been owned by the Cordier family. Beginning in 2007, the family renovated the cellars, winemaking facilities, and vineyards to enhance the wine's quality.
Caillou Blanc comes from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon vines planted in the 1930's by Georges Cordier. The wine is a blend of 76% Sauvignon Blanc and 24% Sémillon fermented and aged in oak barrels, with regular bâttonage for 8 months. The result is a lively, aromatic wine with great richness and depth of flavor.
