Château Bentejac is located on the slopes and plateaus of Asques on the right bank of the Dordogne River in Bordeaux. The estate consists of 17 hectares of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted on clay-limestone soils, which, combined with the unique micoclimate of the area, help to produce exceptional wine. A Jean-Michel Cazes Selection, the wine of Bentejac has been the Cazes family "favorite little Bordeaux" for more than 15 years. Not too bad considering they run some of Bordeaux's top Châteaux like Lynch-Bages, Cordeillan-Bages, Haut-Batailley and Ormes de Pez. High praise indeed!
Château Bentejac's Bordeaux AOC is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon fermented in concrete tanks. Deep ruby color with fragrant aromas of cherries, plums, chili pepper and a lead pencil minerality that plume from the glass. On the palate, this charming Bordeaux delivers delightful freshness and ample structure that flow into a lively, delicious finish. Easy to drink on its own, Château Bentejac is also an excellent table wine; perfect to enjoy with cheeseburgers, sausages or roast vegetables.
