San Salvatore is in the heart of the Cilento National Park, near Paestum in Campania. The estate consists of 149 hectares of organically farmed vineyards, olive groves and other crops. Founded by Giuseppe Pagano in 2006, he named the estate after his first born-son, Salvatore. San Salvatore's first harvest was in 2009, but their historic vineyards were planted by the Ancient Greeks with the same varieties that flourish in the region today: Falanghina, Fiano, Greco, and Aglianico. Giuseppe is committed to preserving the delicate ecological balance of the land, cultivating his vines along biodynamic principles with no synthetic or GMO products. From supplying their own power needs with an onsite photovoltaic plant and a biodigester, to reducing their carbon footprint and emissions through innovative processes, San Salvatore continues to excel and be a leader in environmental wine practices in the Italian wine industry.
San Salvatore's 100% Falanghina pours a bright straw yellow color in the glass. A few swirls release mouthwatering aromas of citrus zest, green apple and tropical fruit tinged with Mediterranean scrub. The palate is awash with these gorgeous fruit flavors balanced with an enticing acidity that brings you back for your next sip. This wine is perfect with seafood and any light pasta dish, such as spaghetti tossed with olive oil, garlic and herbs or orzo with shrimp and feta.
