This medium to full-bodied, luscious blend is predominantly Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of both Cabernet Franc and Malbec. With the first pour, the wine is visually striking, with a dark ruby body and a scarlet rim. On the nose, it is aromatic with fresh red fruit (think wild cherry and ripe raspberry) rising from the glass, mixed with notes of cassis and spice. On the palate, more dark cherry and silky lavender fill the mouth with a light mineral presence and a soft, elegant finish. This is one of the best grilled burger pairings in our shop. It will also go well with grilled steak with pommes frites.

This 100% Chardonnay from Santa Barbara County is done entirely in stainless steel to preserve the freshness of fruit. It displays pear and citrus notes on the nose and delicious flavors of pineapple and apricots on the palate. Pair with grilled lemon-pepper chicken or baked white fish with grilled summer vegetables.

This delicious blend of Nero d’Avola and Perricone is a red and violet color in the glass with wonderful dark berry and spicy aromatics. There are ripe raspberry and blackberry fruit flavors on the mid-palate with great minerality. Pair with any grilled red meat or soft cheese.

A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon from the Bergerac region in South West France, the nose is ignited by lively red fruit with hints of black pepper and dried flowers. Soft and velvety on the palate, the supple wild berries and a slight rustic finish make this a very smooth, easy drinking wine to be accompanied with any meal.

Andreas von Canal is the grandson of the last Freiherr von Heddesdorff. His family has grown Riesling in Winningen since 1454, on steep, terraced vineyards near the joining of the Mosel and the Rhine rivers, just upriver from Koblenz. The estate includes two hectares of the Uhlen, one of the steepest vineyards in Germany, and small parcels in the Brückstück, Röttgen, and Domgarten. The wines are vinified in tank as to preserve the slate-tinged, pure fruit, and zinging acidity inherent to wines from these incredible vineyard sites.

Andreas von Canal's wonderful, dry Riesling is vibrant and fresh, with zippy acidity and great minerality. I love to pair this little Riesling with spring cuisine such as omelettes with goat cheese and ramps, fresh pea risotto, or grilled whole fish with risotto.

This blend of 60% Syrah, 20% Grenache, and 20% Mourvedre has an intense, dark red color in the glass. Aromas of blackberry, currant, and subtle spice are gorgeous on the nose. It is fruit forward with round, rich, and luscious dark fruits. There is a wonderful minerality mid-palate with a light graphite note, similar to a Bordeaux. The soft tannins coat the palate so smoothly and carry it over a long finish. This is such a versatile food-pairing wine and the perfect table red for any gathering.

Here is an elegant blend of 60% Encruzado and 40% Malvasia-Fina that is a great summer white. Beautiful floral aromas mixed with passion fruit and mango on the nose, make the mouth water. It is fresh and lively with a soft, mouth-coating smoothness on the palate. Pair with grilled chicken or roast pork.

This little white is a ray of sunshine in a glass makes me dream of sitting in beautiful Italia, looking out across the Mediterranean sea. The I Versi Bianco is blended with equal parts Grillo, Inzolia, and Grecanico (the Sicilian name for Garganega). Citrus and tropical fruits come through on the nose with a wonderful mineral presence. It is vibrant, crisp, and light, with citrus notes and a nice briny quality taken from the nearby sea. Pair this with any frutti di mare; shellfish, oysters, clams, light white fish or fresh summer salads. It is my pleasure to bring you this new summer guzzler. Be careful! It goes down easy!

This is a medium to full bodied Tempranillo. Dark berry fruits on the nose, rich and ripe red fruits mid-palate, silky tannis, and flashy acidity dazzle the palate. Pair with a traditional Spanish seafood paella or mild chorizo sausage.

From the Costières de Nimes region of the southern Rhône Valley comes this gorgeous blend of 50% Grenache, 25% Syrah, and 25% Mourvedre. Beautiful notes of fresh, wild strawberry rise from the glass. Luscious flavors of red berries with peach accents burst throughout the round body of the wine. It pairs well with any light summer salads.

Fermented and aged in stainless steel, this wine’s emphasis is on freshness and bright acidity. This is highlighted by mouth-watering stone fruit and citrus flavors, with just a hint of Grüner Veltliner’s signature aromatic streak of cracked white pepper. Pair it with white-fleshed fish, ham and mild sausages, or with fresh seasonal vegetables.

The Subremont blanc is a Southwestern France blend of 50% Grenache Blanc, and 50% Sauvignon Blanc. The mineral nose is accented with a soft, floral quality, while the mid-palate is noticeably fresh and zesty, a characteristic of the Sauvignon Blanc. The finish is round and gentle. Pair with a variety of cheese, fish, and lighter meats.
