Founded in 1896, the brewery, Chiyonosono Shuzo in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan was the first brewery after World War II to produce a junmai-shu (pure Sake). They are one of the founding members of the Junsui Nihonshu Kyokai, or "pure Sake association". Brew master is Mr. Ryuichi Harao.
