Champagne A.D. Coutelas was established by local winegrower Louis Victor Coutelas over two centuries ago in 1809 and is still going strong. Today, eighth-generation winemaker Damien Coutelas runs the property, continuing estate’s pursuit of excellence. Damien organically farms (since 2020) his seven precious vineyards planted to Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier in clay-limestone and marl soils. Vine age ranges from 30-60 years. The winemaking techniques and tradition that have been passed down combine with Damien's agronomical and Champagne viticulture studies in Avize to help guide the estate along its three fundamental values: authenticity, quality and tradition.
Coutelas’ Eloge Brut Blanc de Blancs — composed entirely of Chardonnay — is out-of-this-world! Pale golden color in the glass with a tiny beam of persistent bubbles, the Eloge offers a gorgeous bouquet of fresh apple cider tinged with hints of white flowers and a note of fresh-baked bread, right out of the oven. This Champagne dazzles on the palate... ultra-pure and fresh, a symphony of pristine fruit flavors infused with an ebullient acidity and a fantastic chalky minerality. Coutelas’ Eloge Brut is crisp, clean, vibrant, and delicious from start to finish.
