Domaine de la Santoline Rosé 2024

Domaine de La Santoline is owned by the Greuzard family, who moved from Burgundy to the Languedoc in 1980, purchased their first vineyards in 1987 and started Domaine de La Santoline in 2001. The estate is named after the herb santolina, one of many aromatic plants that flourish among their 60+ hectares of vines located in the two communes of Mirepeïsset and Sallèles-d’Aude. The Greuzard family are independent wine growers who farm sustainably, working their vines as environmentally friendly as possible to produce healthy grapes that in turn create delicious, welcoming and amiable wines. The quality of their Cinsault rosé is a testament to their passion, commitment and hard work. 

Domaine de Santoline's rosé is made from 100% Cinsault. Light salmon in color with aromas of fresh cherries, lavender and strawberry with a touch of spice. On the palate, the wines has a lush texture and soft mouthfeel to complement the lovely ripe stone and berry fruits. The finish is refreshing and delicious with an added floral component to interplay with the concentrated fruit flavors. I love this wine for its drinkability and versatility; not to mention I never feel guilty about opening an extra bottle when we have company! Rosé and hot dogs are one of the most under-appreciated food and wine pairings, and the Santoline rosé is perfect with dogs off the grill, though it goes great with a piece of grilled fish and summer vegetables.
