In 1894, Ferdinand Charleux founded what would eventually become Domaine Maurice Charleux & Fils in Dezize-les-Maranges south west of Santenay, at the southern border of the Côte d'Or in Burgundy. In 1970, Maurice took over the vineyards and began selling wine under his own name, eventually handing the reins to his son Vincent who currently is in charge. Today, the domaine covers just under 10 hectares of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines that are farmed sustainably.

Charleux's Santenay Blanc pours an alluring light gold in the glass with a light tinge of yellow. Mouthwatering, citrus-drizzled orchard and tropical fruit aromas accented with a hint of freshly-chopped almonds tantalize the senses. The medium-bodied palate is round and layered, offering flavors of lemon-zested yellow apple, white apricot and cantaloupe. There is a beautiful balance of freshness and concentration of flavor that is highlighted by this wine's lip-smacking acidity and subtle mineral note. This Santenay Blanc finishes long and complex. Enjoy with baked clams, sesame-crusted tuna seared rare or lemon-pepper roasted chicken.
