Grassi Estate is a family-owned and operated winery situated in the eastern benchlands of Napa Valley, just south of the Stags Leap District AVA. The fourteen-acre estate was founded by husband and wife Mark and Jami Grassi in 2005. Today, Grassi is run by the couple’s daughter Cassandra along with her husband, Miguel Luna, who manages the vineyards and winemaker Maayan Koschitzky. Grassi crafts award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, as well as still and sparkling offerings of Ribolla Gialla, emphasizing purity of fruit, elegance and character.
Grassi's Cabernet Sauvignon — inky red-black in color — possesses an intoxicating nose of dark berry and stone fruits marked with spice and a touch of dried herbs. The ample palate is packed with black currant and spiced cherry flavor accented with hints of dark chocolate and pencil shavings. There is a beautiful balance of fine acidity and seductive tannins that help guide this Cabernet toward a long, sensuous finish. Pair with venison medallions smothered in mushrooms or filet mignon Oscar.
