Corte Medicea is a family-owned winery which is part of the La Bollina group. The estate focuses on crafting Tuscan wines of quality using a combination of traditional and modern winemaking techniques. Based in the rolling hills of southern Tuscany, Corte Medicea cultivates Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon in clay/loam-vineyards at 380-400 meters. Winemaker Andrea Bernardini is guided by the simple premise of creating wines which perfectly express the profiles of both their varietals and terroir… and the results emphatically speak for themselves.

2021 was a fantastic vintage in Chianti and Corte Medicea’s Chianti Riserva wonderfully showcases not only the vintage, but the region itself; this is an extremely traditional Chianti Riserva. The wine explodes from the glass with vibrant aromas of red stone and berry fruits tinged with hints of herbs and spice. The palate displays exquisite volume and density, offering mouthwatering flavors of ripe cherry, red plum and raspberries underlain with vanilla. Those fruits are supported by a sensational acidity and well-integrated tannins. The finish is long, soft and velvety. Pair with aged cheese and cured meats, wood-fired pizza or a grilled ribeye with roasted potatoes and sautéed greens.
