Division Winemaking Company was founded in 2010 by partners Kate Norris and Thomas Monroe. Kat and Thomas craft approachable, balanced wines from grapes sourced from responsibly-farmed (regenerative, organic and/or biodynamic), terroir-expressive vineyards in Oregon and Washington. The two winemakers employ minimal intervention with an ethos in French winemaking. Their focus is creating great price-to-quality value wines from Sauvignon Blanc, Aligoté, Chardonnay for the white; Gamay, Grenache, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Nebbiolo and Syrah for the reds.

Division's Les Petits Fers 100% Gamay was crafted with a combination of carbonic and semi-carbonic maceration using fruit sourced from both Oregon and Washington state. Les Petits Fers pours a deep ruby red rimmed with garnet presenting a nose filled with bright red berry and stone fruits mixed with hints of violets and black tea. The palate is fresh and lively — awash with strawberry, raspberry and cherry fruit — though balanced by savory notes of herbs and black pepper spice. This wine is carried towards a remarkable finish by a subdued, earthy minerality and smooth tannins. A wonderful pairing for a plate of cured meats, assorted olives and cheeses, roast duck with plum sauce or braised chicken thighs with herbed butter.

Oregon and Washington fruit collide to shout, "gamay, gamay, hey." The wine is a mix of whole cluster carbonic maceration and traditional fermentation done in stainless steel, concrete and neutral oak. It is packed with aromas and flavors of strawberries, dark chocolate, pickled watermelon and cut grass. The acidity will make you feel alive.
