Division Winemaking Company was founded in 2010 by partners Kate Norris and Thomas Monroe. Kat and Thomas craft approachable, balanced wines from grapes sourced from responsibly-farmed (regenerative, organic and/or biodynamic), terroir-expressive vineyards in Oregon and Washington. The two winemakers employ minimal intervention with an ethos in French winemaking. Their focus is creating great price-to-quality value wines from Sauvignon Blanc, Aligoté, Chardonnay for the white; Gamay, Grenache, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Nebbiolo and Syrah for the reds.
Division’s UN Chardonnay is a cuvée of organic and biodynamic Chardonnay sourced from three vineyards in the Willamette Valley (the Cassin, Johan and Royer Vineyards). This wine jumps out of the glass with aromas of orchard and stone fruits accented with notes of spice and wet slate. The palate showcases a delightful combination of green apple and white peach married with hints of lemongrass and Meyer lemon. There is a buoyant acidity that uplifts those fruits and carries the wine to a vibrant, saline-laced finish. Enjoy with poached salmon with butter and garlic or Thai chicken curry.
