Domaine Dubreuil-Fontaine Père et Fils Pernand Vergelesses Clos Berthet 2023

Clos Berthet is a monopole of Dubreuil-Fontaine (meaning they are the sole owners and producers of this fabulous Premier Cru vineyard). The family considers it the gem of their estate. Made from 100% Chardonnay, all Clos Berthet fruit is hand harvested and fermented in 100% oak barrels with full malolactic conversion. The wine is aged for 10-12 months in oak barrels, 25% of which is new. In the glass, the wine shows a gorgeous light gold color. Intense aromas of fresh citrus, ripe peach, roasted nuts and spice persist on the nose. On the palate, the fruits evolve into the exotic variety with the wine broadening on the palate and developing a soft, creamy texture impeccably balanced by an energetic acidity. The finish is exquisitely integrated and punctuated with soft mineral notes. Enjoy with pan-fried scallops, grilled corn or lobster.
