Domaine de la Lande has been owned by the Delaunay family for four generations. The family maintains holdings in Bourgueil, Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil, and Chinon, with most of their production in Bourgueil. All the work in their vineyards is done manually and the estate is organically certified by Agriculture Biologique.
Domaine de la Lande’s Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil is crafted with Cabernet Franc grown on 20-30 year old vines grown in soils of sand and gravel. Deep, dark ruby in the glass, this wine offers a scintillating combination of lively red fruits, spicy pepper and toiled earth on the nose. The medium-bodied palate is full of cherries, raspberries and strawberry purée framed by firm, yet pleasant tannins and a balancing acidity. The long finish is punctuated by the beautiful peppery note that runs throughout. A perfect companion for anything off the grill, from burgers to steaks to BBQ ribs.
