Troupis Winery Agiorgitiko Fteri 2024

The Troupis family has a long history of farming, dating back to the 1970's when they owned and operated a nursery specializing in fruit trees and flowers. On the side, the family grew grapes and made wine for themselves, but not in a commercial capacity. Eventually, the family purchased land to plant vineyards. Today, Tasos Troupis, along with his children, farm almost 16 acres of vines in the center of the Mantinea Plateau in the Fteri region, the heart of the Mantinia DOP, at an altitude of approximately 700 meters.

Troupis' Fteri Agiorgitiko — Fteri means "fern" in Greek — is made from 100% Agiorgitiko grown in and around Nemea at an altitude of 640 meters. Mid purple in the glass with aromas of black cherries, pomegranate, plums and spice. On the palate, the wine is fruit forward and juicy with svelte tannins and a refreshing acidity that lead into a refreshing, spicy finish. Enjoy with braised meats in tomato sauce.
