Azienda Agricola Chiappini is located in the heart of the Bolgheri DOC in Tuscany. Established in the 1950’s, the estate began as a polyculture farm by owner Giovanni Chiappini’s parents, who moved to the Bolgheri region from Marche. Today, Giovanni organically cultivates fifteen hectares of vines planted to Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Vermentino in alluvial calcareous soils. With the help of his two daughters, Martina and Lisa, Giovanni crafts expressive wines that speak to the unique and valuable terroir of the Bolgheri.

The 2022 Bolgheri Rosso Felciano is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc that spent 12 months in French oak. Ripe and succulent, the 2022 is all charm right out of the gate. Silky contours and plush fruit open first, followed by hints of clove, pomegranate, rose petal and mocha. All the elements are deftly balanced throughout. What a joyous wine this is.

The dark magenta/purple-hued 2022 Felciano is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc that saw 12 months in French barriques. It’s ripe on the nose with aromas of baked cherries, purple flowers, cocoa, and balsamic herbs. Full-bodied, it fills the palate with a balanced and coating texture, supple tannins, and even undercurrent of acidity. It’s elegant and sunny, with nice balance to drink now or over the coming 8-10 years.

Intense rose aroma here, together with candied violet and dark-cherry fruit. Medium body with brisk acidity, firm tannins and a chalky, drier texture to the finish. Drink or hold.
