Domaine de l’Idylle is nestled deep in the French Alps in the valley of the Combe de Savoie. Established in 1840 by François Tiollier, the estate is comprised of just over 20 hectares planted to Jacquère, Altesse, Roussanne, Mondeuse and Pinot Noir in argilo-calcaire soils. Their vineyards are presently in the process of organic conversion. Currently, the property is run by brothers Philippe and François Tiollier along with Philippe’s oldest son, Sylvain, all committed to producing fresh, charming and easy-going wines from the Savoie region’s indigenous varietals.
Domaine de l’Idylle’s Cruet — 100% Jacquère — pours a crystal-clear, almost white in the glass, offering a light perfume of citrus fruit and white flowers. The palate is crisp and refreshing displaying mouthwatering flavors of zesty lemon and lime balanced by lively acidity and an ultra-fine minerality. Raclette is a classic pairing for Jacquère and this wine is no exception, though you will find this Alpine wine works wonderfully on its own or with lighter seafood dishes.
