Domaine Rouge Bleu was established in 2007 in Sainte-Cécile-Les-Vignes — situated in the northern part of Vaucluse, Rhône — by the wife and husband team of Caroline Jones and Thomas Bertrand. Caroline is a trained enologist from Western Australia; Thomas — born in the Vosges mountains in eastern France — worked in the UK wine trade for 12 years. The couple organically farm 12 hectares of low-yielding, old vines with biodynamic practices. The estate vineyard sits upon the stony soil of an ancient riverbed and surrounds the property's farmhouse. Their wines are traditionally vinified and speak to the terroir from which they are grown, exhibiting the passion and devotion possessed by Caroline and Thomas.
Domaine Rouge Bleu's Dentelle blanc is a true field blend — comprised of thirteen local grape varietals — (Vermentino, Marsanne, Clairette Blanc, Roussanne, Viognier, Carignan Blanc, Bourboulenc, Grenache Blanc, Gros Manseng, Chenin Blanc, Muscat Petits Grains, Picpoul and Grenache Gris). The wine is wonderfully aromatic with a nose of tropical and stone fruits tantalizing the senses. The attack is crisp and refreshing with flavors of white peach and apricot dominating the mid-palate. This is a well-balanced wine that displays an alluring acidity that leads the way to a bright, vibrant finish. Delightful on its own, but can pair deliciously with summer salads, white fish dishes or grilled chicken.
