Mas Foraster is a winery with a passion for the Trepat and Macabeu varietals. The Foraster family has been growing grapes in Conca de Barbera for over 150 years. In 1998 Julieta and her son Ricard organically (certified) farm their vineyards in a valley surrounded by mountains ranges (Serra Miramar & Montanas de Prades) at an altitude of 400 m, to 600 m, 30 km from the sea, sharing its southern border with Priorat and Montsant. The high elevation of Conca de Barbera, combined with the cool sea breeze from the Mediterranean sea, allows the grape to retain acidity during ripening season producing fresher wine, with structure and elegance.

Foraster's Cava Rosat is crafted with 100% Trepat from the estate's vineyards; Foraster is only one of two estates in the region to produce a Trepat-only Rosat. This delightful sparkler sits an attractive bright pink in the glass offering a steady stream of tiny bubbles. Aromas of red fruits accented with a light brioche note tantalize the senses. Your first sip is welcomed by a silky mousse displaying flavors of ripe cherry, strawberry and plum tinged with a touch of white pepper. This Cava Rosat finishes with a lovely balance of refreshing acidity and fine minerality. Perfect as an aperitif, but equally delicious with shellfish appetizers or first courses.
