Domaine des Terres de Chatenay is a 10-hectare estate located in the town of Pérrone in southern Burgundy. The property is run by the husband and wife team of Jean-Claude and Marie-Odile Janin. They practice non-interventionalist farming on 40-65 year old Chardonnay vines grown in limestone and siliceous soils.
The Mâcon-Pérrone pours a beautiful gold flecked with light green highlights. A light swirl of the glass releases gorgeous aromas of white flowers and ripe orchard fruits kissed with a hint of anise. The palate is round and dense, showcasing apple and pear flavors complemented by vibrant acidity and a saline minerality. This wine makes for a perfect aperitif, but can be enjoyed with an assortment of fish or chicken dishes. Try it with broiled halibut drizzled in lemon and olive oil or spatchcocked grilled chicken.
