Château de Quinçay is a family estate located on the southern hillsides of the Cher river in Meusnes in the heart of the Loire Valley. The winery was established in 1860 by General Charles Cadart who inherited the property and became a winemaker after retiring from the army. Today, Château de Quinçay is run by the sixth generation of the family who farm 30 hectares of vines grown on flint-rich soils in the Touraine and Valençay appellations. While environmental conservation is a primary concern — the vineyards are managed using sustainable viticulture (certified Terra Vitis) — the Cadart family's driving force is to preserve the traditions of the region and the passion and spirit of the family business.
The Quinçay Touraine blanc is 100% Sauvignon Blanc and pours a clear straw yellow in the glass. A few swirls release beautiful aromas of citrus-tinged tropical fruits mixed with notes of acacia flowers. Bright acidity shines on the attack mingling with flavors of salted lemon and grapefruit and complemented with a soft mineral undertone. The finish is crisp and clean. Perfect pairing for most salads and fish dishes. Try with a summer squash tabbouleh or pan-seared trout with lemon and capers.
