Enderle & Moll is a tiny estate located in Baden, Germany run by Sven Enderle and Florian Moll, two gentlemen who make some of the best Pinot Noir in all of Germany. Their methods in the vineyards and winery are atypical for a region where emphasis placed on efficiency, ripeness, alcohol and oak. Enderle & Moll farm all their vineyards organically and biodynamically, working with some of the oldest Pinot Noir vines in Baden. All work in the vineyard and cellar is done by hand and nothing is added to any of the wines.
Basis is Enderle & Moll's "entry-level" Pinot Noir, meant to be bright and drinkable. Crafted from vines of at least thiry years of age, this Pinot displays a vibrant ruby red in the glass offering fresh aromas of wild berries with a touch of earth and spice. The palate is full of macerated cherry and cranberry sauce flavors, which are balanced by mild tannins and a fine, citrus-like acidity. This is an easy-going, quite quaffable Pinot Noir that is versatile for the dinner table: try with cream of mushroom soup, poached salmon or fried chicken cutlets.
