Cantine Volpetti, located in the heart of the Colli Albani DOC in Lazio, is situated on the volcanic slopes just south of Rome. Since it was established in 1958, the Volpetti family winery has been producing wines with the constant objective of enhancing and characterizing the indigenous varietals of the region, such as Malvasia Puntinata, Bellone and Cesanese, as well as cultivating popular Italian like Sangiovese, Montepulciano and Trebbiano. Volpetti's Le Piantate (The Planted) Cesanese pours intensely deep red with garnet flecks throughout. A swirl of the glass reveals rich aromas of overripe red berries, blackberry jam and spice.
