Domaine Bott Frères Sylvaner - Tradition 2022

Bott Frères is located in the village of Ribeauvillé, in the heart of Alsace. Since 1835, some of the oldest wine know-how has been transmitted from generation to generation; father to son. The Bott family does not manufacture wine, it cultivates it. On the estate's vineyards, seven varieties are grown and produced in a wide array of soils and the subsequent wines made in a range of styles. The grape harvest is undertaken manually and the output is monitored in order to produce high quality wines. Aging takes place in century old oak casks. The results are some of the most food friendly and distinctive wines from Alsace. Since 2019, the estate has been in transition to organic certification.

The Sylvaner Tradition is characterized by its freshness and ease of drinkability. This wine is intoxicatingly aromatic, offering citrus-tinged, white orchard fruits mixed with soft notes of white flowers and wet slate. Waves of green apple and pear interspersed with lemon zest cascade across the palate. A lively acidity combines with a subtle mineral streak to offer incredible thirst quenching refreshment. This Sylvaner sings on the dinner table, especially with richer and heartier fare... try with rich sausage dishes like Choucroute Garnie (assorted wursts with sauerkraut) and Tuscan sausage stew with white beans, or roasts like whole roasted chicken with a creamy white wine and mushroom sauce and traditional Sauerbraten.
