Januik Winery was founded by Mike and Caroline Januik in 1999, the realization of a dream that took hold in 1980 when the couple sold their wine shop in Oregon so Mike could study winemaking at UC Davis. After graduation, the Januiks moved to Washington to be closer to family. In 1984, Mike worked his first vintage and quickly became a leading winemaker in the state's nascent wine scene. Utilizing his relationships with growers throughout the Columbia Valley, Mike acquires the best grapes the region has to offer that are then crafted into acclaimed wines of great finesse and balance.

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is understated, displaying a balanced blend of sweet herbs and musky black currant. It's soft and pliant, with depths of tart red and black fruits guided by brisk acidity. The 2021 possesses lovely balance, finishing lightly structured and fresh, with a lingering tinge of bitter cocoa.
