The history of the Bassermann-Jordan winery dates back to 1718 when Pierre Jordan purchased the family's first vineyards in Pfalz and since — along with other producers in the region — the estate has greatly influenced viticulture and winemaking, not only in Pfalz, but in all of Germany. The family was one of the founding members of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter), the German organization which promotes the country’s top wines and estates. In 2002, the winery was sold to the Niederberger family who has been committed to upholding the estate's reputation for quality in Pfalz. The property's holdings include some of the most notable winegrowing sites in the region and all the vineyards are farmed organically using biodynamic practices with certification earned in 2014. Wines goes through gentle, spontaneous fermentation with any additives. Traditionally at the estate, all wines were aging in wooden casks, though recently stainless steel has been introduced for both fermentation and the aging of the young Rieslings.

The Bassermann-Jordan Riesling Trocken pours a beautiful light gold color and displays gorgeous aromas of orchard fruit, white flowers and a light mineral tinge. Flavors of pears and green apples coast across the palate via an incredible interplay of vibrant acidity and subtle minerality. The finish is dry, focused and refreshing.
