Rémi Jobard is a philosopher, minimalist and a perfectionist. His immaculate, organic vineyards and hands-off winemaking have made him one of the Côte de Beaune’s reference producers. Rémi began working with his famous father, Charles, and uncle, François, in 1992, taking over the family’s vineyards after Charles retired in 1996. Farming is the first and foremost priority of the estate ― starting in 1994 the vineyards are herbicide and pesticide free, and since 2011 the estate is certified organic. Wines are made with minimal intervention yet with meticulous detail. As Rémi says, “everything I do in the vineyard and in my cellar is to make sure that the terroir is transparent and completely unobscured.” The wines are testaments to his philosophy, hard work, and relentless drive to perfection.

Rémi’s les Santenots Volnay Premier Cru is the culmination of his many years’ experience among his vines and in his cellar. The wine is light, pure and expressive with enchanting aromas of small red-berried fruit, violets, black tea and forest floor. Super-refined and elegant with a ripe fruit profile that dances on the palate, perfectly framed by integrated, soft, persistent tannins. The finish is ethereal and minutes long, highlighting the impeccable pedigree of the wine. Rémi’s Volnay Santenots drinks beautifully now though will age gracefully for another 5-10 years.
