Domaine Vincent Bachelet consists of 17 hectares of vineyards in ten different appellations in the Côte de Beaune and Gevrey-Chambertin. A native of Dezize-lès-Maranges, Vincent is a fourth-generation winegrower. His traditional practices and expertise were acquired while working alongside his two brothers, Jean-François and Jean-Louis, for their father Bernard at Domaine Bernard Bachelet. The three brothers ran the family estate until the mid-2000's, when they divided the estate's 100 hectares between them. Vincent is now passing on his knowledge and techniques to his children, Aurore and Étienne. They help him run his estate, which was established in 2007 in Chassagne-Montrachet at a former wine storehouse. Vincent has been restoring the property for the past eight years, including the 18th century wine cave and cellars. Vincent's dedication to history and tradition, as well as his natural farming practices, shine through in his wines. They are true farmer's wines, exhibiting unbelievable purity and authenticity.
Vincent's Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge is made from 100% Pinot Noir. It pours a dark garnet with dark ruby rim. A few swirls of the glass send notes of dark red fruits wafting into the air before you can even lift it to your nose. On the palate, flavors of red and black raspberries, cherries and a touch of black pepper are supported by a superb structure that holds throughout. The soft, yet firm tannins blend seamlessly with fine acidity, creating a mouth-watering and lengthy finish. The slight rusticity and elegant structure are hallmarks of a well-made Chassagne-Montrachet. Enjoy with grilled portabello mushrooms topped with melted gruyère.
