The Paquet family has owned properties in Burgundy since the early 1950's. Agnès Paquet took over the vineyards and set up her Domaine in 2000 after completing her wine business studies in Beaune. The estate is located in the remote village of Meloisey, in the Hautes Côtes de Beaune right near the village of Auxey-Duresses. She conducts every aspect of the winemaking process, from vine to bottle. The micro-production of her wines, combined with her status as a darling of France's three Michelin Star "Somms" (from the restaurants of Alain Ducasse, Anne-Sophie Pic and Joël Robuchon) allows us to realize how lucky we are to feature these beautiful wines.
Les Combes is a 100% Pinot Noir from the village of Pommard in the Côte de Beaune. The grapes are grown on predominantly clay soils with limestone in a vineyard on the border of the village of Volnay. All grapes are hand harvested and fermented quickly with ageing in new oak barrels. Because of the vines location, Les Combes achieves a brilliant balance between the finesse and grace of Volnay and the power and structure of Pommard.
