Prosecco is the classic apertivo of Italy. Its fruity aromas and flavors, bright acidity and effervescence make this style of wine a perfect way to start an evening, make a toast, or to accompany lighter hors d'oeuvres and fresh fruit. Prosecco, or Glera, is a grape variety indigenous to the Veneto region of northeast Italy and the Valdobbiadene subzone is the finest site for Italy’s most famous sparkling wine.
Bele Casel is a small, artisanal winery that strives to make aromatic and concentrated Prosecco. Their wine is made from fruit grown in the subdistricts of Santo Stefano and Sacol, largely considered the best source of Prosecco in the Valdobbiadene region. Fermentation and spumantizzato are done at cool temperatures to preserve the natural freshness and vibrancy of the wine. Pair with grilled shrimp, antipasto, and after the meal, fresh fruit.
