Based in Minervois, the Tour Boisee family estate was originally built around 1826. Jean-Louis Poudou and his wife Marie-Claude currently own and run the vineyards and winery. Every generation of the family has proven to be as passionate and dedicated to the terroir as their ancestors have been. The "Tour" (Tower), for which the estate is named, was part of the village's fortifications back in the 12th century and still stands in their garden to this day. The estate produces a large line of impressively well-made and delicious wines.
Une Histoire de Famille is a blend of Vermentino, Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Roussanne, Muscat Petit Grains, and Macabeu. All six grapes are harvested and fermented together, and similar to how a great dish is greater than the sum of its parts, the grapes create a wine which is nothing like what they are individually. Flavors of garrigue, flowers and stone fruits dominant this medium bodied, richly textured wine. Enjoy on its own or pair with fatty fish or veal.
